Kotor Cable Car to Lovćen (Round-Trip Ticket)
The cable car climbs 1,316 metres over roughly four kilometres of cable, and it does in eleven minutes what the serpentine road does in an hour of hairpins. The view back down is the reason to go: the whole bay laid out below, the old town shrinking to a triangle of red roofs, and the mountains of Lovcen opening up ahead. Take a layer, because the top is meaningfully colder than the waterfront even in August.

What to expect
- The lower station
Board at Dub, just outside Kotor, where there is parking and a shuttle from town.
- The climb
Roughly eleven minutes of ascent, with the bay opening up wider behind you the higher you get.
- The top
Viewing terraces at the upper station, with the road on toward Njegusi and the Lovcen mausoleum from there.
- Back down
Return whenever suits. The ticket is round-trip and the light is best late in the afternoon.
